We believe that the arts are deeply rooted in our lives. It’s all about caring about the nuances of our society, reflecting who we are, where we live, and how our life is. Art is a privileged platform through which we can articulate our observations and concerns, utilizing various artistic and humanistic mediums to convey our voices with resonance and depth.
Art Synthes Lab (ASL) is an art studio situated in the Santa Clara County of the Bay Area. We provide a unique space for individuals to immerse themselves in the world of art exploration, where they can embark on a journey of sensing, thinking, synthesizing, and creating.

Meet the team
Ruimin
Ruimin is an artist and educator based in the Bay Area. She earned her B.F.A from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, where she developed a strong foundation in artistic expression and design principles. She later earned her MFA from the Parsons School of Design in New York City, majoring in Transdisciplinary Design, and minoring in Transmedia and Digital Storytelling.
Ruimin’s educational background in Beijing and New York has enabled her to gain expertise in both classical and innovative approaches to developing art learning methodologies. She believes in and applies the Chinese idiom “教学相长”, which emphasizes mutual growth through teaching and learning experience for both teacher and student alike. Each class represents an opportunity to listen to and communicate with her students, exploring the unique artistic journey of each individual, and ultimately assisting students in seeking and expressing themselves.
Ruimin is also passionate about social science and literature. Reading nourishes her drawing. She always distills inspirations from social science such as ethnography, as well as from fiction and poetry, to enrich her art creation and teaching.
Michael
Michael is a mechanical engineer practicing in the Bay Area. He is passionate about exploring various forms of art and design through his mechanical expertise. At the Art Synthes Lab, Michael applies his mechanical skills and hands-on experience in various techniques such as 3D printing, CO2 laser cutting, metal, and woodwork to materialize students’ ideas into tangible prototypes.
